Wow I was told that this place would give you ample portions and that was no lie. While the menu prices might seem a bit steep the portions are more than enough to make up for it. The service is fine but the menu could offer more diverse options. A majority of the menu choices are seafood and the fish is most likely limited to tilapia, some salmon and something else just listed as fish. would have loved to see fried catfish on the menu. In lieu of that option I went with the blackened chicken. The grits are cooked with ranch dressing which I was not prepared to experience so I opted for rice instead and I felt like this was a good alternative.

FOOD WAS VERY DELICIOUS. TO ME, THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST SOUL/SEAFOOD SPOTS IN VIRGINIA. I BROUGHT MY FIANCE AND MY BEST FRIEND WITH ME. SHE MENTIONS TO ME THAT THERE IS A STATUE OF FORMER CUBA PRIME MINISTER FIDEL CASTRO IN THE RESTAURANT. WITH HER BEING FROM CUBA, SHE WAS VERY DISTURBED TO THE POINT SHE WAS TEARING UP BECAUSE SHE LOST MANY FAMILY MEMBERS DUE TO CASTRO'S ACTIONS. PEOPLE THAT KNOW THE HISTORY BEHIND THIS MAN WILL UNDERSTAND. I SPOKE WITH THE MANAGER ON DUTY AND THEY DID NOT SHOW ANY CARE NOR EMPATHY OF THE SITUATION. ALL HE COULD SAY IS THAT NO ONE ELSE COMPLAINED SO HE WAS VERY NONCHALANT. HE ALSO SAID IT WAS JUST "DECORATION TO IMPROVE THE AMBIENCE." THEY DO NOT REALIZE THAT THIS CAN STEER AWAY A LARGE GROUP OF CUSTOMERS IF THEY ONLY SEE THIS FOR THEMSELVES. IF THEY CONTINUE TO HAVE THIS DISCUSTING STATUE IN THEIR ESTABLISHMENT, WE WILL NOT VISIT AGAIN.
Took my daughter here for her birthday and it was great. I had the fish boat with macaroni & cheese and greens. Everything was delicious. The salmon cakes were also crispy and flavorful. We picked up 2 pieces of cake which were just ok. The strawberry cake was a little dry and tasted artificial. The double chocolate cake was ok, but could've used more/thicker icing. Dessert notwithstanding, we really enjoyed our meal.
Bad ecperience at this restaurant. Ordered the pasta dish which was very salty. I informed the server concerning this. He talked to the manager and asked me if i wanted something else. I told him i would like an appetizer. When i received my bill i was charged for the pasta minus 25% and the full price for the appetizer. This is the worst customer service i have ever received from a restaurant. I will never attend this place again. Would like to mention the bartender was excellent.
Pretty dang on good I must say. Great atmosphere, pretty good food and great service. I deffinately appreciate a place like this to eat and chill when so far away from home (Mississippi).
