I'm not one to typically leave negative reviews but I have had several negative experiences with this S.S. so much so in fact I deal with a higher priced feed store now. First, the lady that works in this store at the register is rather rude, unless she personally knows the customer she doesn't have time for you. The second was last year they were advertising free chicks with a bag of feed, it was supposed to be a 2 day deal, they were out of chicks by noon on the first day and had no intention of ordering more for the promotion. The third strike came today when we called up to inquire about whether or not they had any Buff Orpington chicks, the only thing they could say is they had straight run chicks but knew nothing about them? Now I ask you, would you sell a living creature without knowing anything about it? If that is all the info they can provide then how can they ensure their healthy? I won't be back to this S.S. I recommend a local feed store or tractor supply, I'll pay a quarter a bag more for better service.
I have never had any problems with Southern States. They were so willing to even reimburse me for unopened feed after my horse passed. They are always willing to answer my questions whenever I have them!
