I literally sat there for 2 hrs when they said there’s no appointments on Saturday and a woman walked in and immediately got seated. There excuse was that she came in earlier at 11 waiting for the nail tech. We were there since 10.
This place was nice, employees who worked there were nice, however some customers were unconsiderate and had attitude.
We went to this location based on it having a 4 star rating. We don't go regularly, so we don't have a regular shop or nail technician. My nails and feet were done by two different person and my daughter's were done by another two people. Before my nails were painted, I asked the woman Candy if I could pay for everything. She retrieved all of the tickets and processed my payment. When my daughter was finished, she got her purse to pay. I told her that I had already paid and she has to repay me. She said, "Oh I forgot I was robbed. I have to pay you later." The people around us, including the one who did her feet, all laughed. As we were walking to the car, the older Asian woman, that doesn't speak English, motioned for her to come back inside. My daughter went back and I run in after her, because she's a minor and anything you have to say to her, you say to me. The old lady and the old short man who did her nails were speaking in their native language. I asked 2 Times, "What's wrong?" No one said anything. Than the old lady put her hand on my daughter's arm. I said loudly, "What's The Problem?" (She moved her hand too). At that point, Candy heard me and turned around from her client and asked the old people the samething. Than she said, "She did pay, you told me $35 and I put it her moms card. The total was $XXX plus tips." Candy said, to me "Its Okay, you paid." By this time, I had pulled up online banking. I replied, "I know because my bank shows a $XXX from this place." The old woman & man must have saw me getting more upset because the man said, "Ok, you go." Neither he nor the old woman apologized. When we I got in the car, my daughter said, "See they Always think we're trying to steal. That's why I didn't want go to Asians." I explained to her that at most shops, you have one person but both of had two each. So I could see where the old man may have been confused. BUT I was angry because neither one of apologized for the mistake. This action was embarrassing as the shop was full. We will not be going back. It's a shame that my teenager has stereotyped all Asians because of the actions of a few. I pray that she will meet more like I have that don't act like the old lady and old man. (I'm proud of myself for maintaining & not going off- lol).
My mom and I went in and had a wonderful experience. They really took their time with both our nails and feet! Pleasant workers that love babies and will help if you have to go in alone with your little one. Definitely returning! 5 stars!
Since moving to Va. Venus Nails and Spa is the only place i have went and you feel like family. They are professional and always make sure you are satisfied witg their work. They take the time to do your nails correctly. I have been going to this nail shop for 6 years now and they are the best in the Petersburg surrounding area. Candy, Kimberly, and Becky are awesome. I love this place and would highly recommend coming here.
