Never did get to stay here. Although I did call and reserve 2 camp sites for tent camping a month ahead of time because we had family in Md and some in N.C. so this was about middleways. Anyway I called to confirm the day before we were due to arrive and was told that we had no sites and even though I was given a confirmation number that my reservation was cancelled because a big family reunion took our sites(they reserved after me also). I was told that there was no sites and that I should go someplace else. The old lady who did this responded when I told her I would give a bad review" what would I k ow about it because I never been there" and then she hung up on and would not answer when I called back numerous times. She basically left me high and dry. Luckily with a bunch of phone calls I found Amelia Family campground, this was an awesome place. Great people, facilities and an all around wonderful weekend. NEVER EVER STAY AT SOUTH FORTY!!!! But Amelia Family Campground is the place to go and very close to this other dump called South Forty!!

Stayed for the night. Nice site. Plenty of room. Showed up without reservation on Sunday. The camp host was fabulous. Keep him around he's a keeper.
Needs better maintenance. Fly tapes in women's bathroom were covered in flies and should have been changed. Lamp post light near tent spots was blinking all night
Have had a good time at south 40 hook ups all good got a 50 amp site by mistake but they gave me the adaper to barrow. We are pleased with the site the staff is great nice and clean and quiet great stop over may come back into summer to see if more active
VERY NICE CAMPGROUND STOPED THERE SEVERAL TIMES ALSO A GOOD RESTAURANT NEXT TO THE CAMPGROUND
