I only wish some people (horse riders) were a bit more considerate with the horse excrement all over the trail, the weight destroys the center of the trail. It would be nice if they would stay on the sides or they had their own trail to ride. There is a group of 4-6 horse riders there every Sunday. Every one of them in their late 40s or 50s. They are just plain rude. It could be me but I think they feel they own that place. They block the trails with their horses while they talk or hang out, then tell you to slow down when you pass them because their horses get spook. The horses jump whether you bike or run.
Road lined with trees. Peaceful and see deer often. Multiple trails to explore as well, which I have not yet.
For the weekend warrior there are plenty of horse trails and bike trails to ride. Nice jogging paths and plenty of places to walk around.
Great historical park located in the Tri Cities area between Hopewell and Petersburg. Trails for hiking, and a road for cyclists and vehicular traffic. Lots of local history to be discovered in a very idyllic setting.
Love it here. Run the Tour Road if in the area and want to ger a couple miles in. A couple hills to make it a little challenging.
Beautiful historic site. Alot of memorable displays and fascinating artifacts which dates back to the civil war.
I love the battlefield trails. I run and mountain bike there about 3 times a week. There is a great view, history and plenty of shade if you want to run, walk or bike the trails. Just bring a map or follow the yellow paint on the trees if you get lost.
This is a great park with a unique history. I highly recommend it for walking and running. The park is also a great place for reflection.
